Friday, March 22, 2024

(KALAMAZOO) – A Kalamazoo County Circuit Court jury has found former Fabius Township Supervisor Kenneth Linn guilty of sexual assault.

The verdict was announced late Thursday afternoon, according to court personnel.

The 58 year old Linn had originally been arrested and charged with four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, after assaulting a woman in August 2010. Linn was arrested in October 2023, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting.

The incident happened in August 2010 following a golf outing at Sauganash Country Club in Three Rivers. The then 22 year old woman has been operating a beverage cart at the golf outing and Linn bought her drinks. Linn then drove the woman to her apartment in Portage and allegedly had sex with her and she was unable to give consent.

The victim has no memory of the sex acts, but suffered physical injury, and DNA evidence collected from her later identified Linn.

Linn has maintained the sex was consensual.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 16. Each charge is punishable by up to life in prison.
