(CONSTANTINE) – One person was shot Wednesday night near the Constantine Little League baseball fields.
The Constantine Police Department says they were sent to Meadow Lane and South Washington Street around 8 PM to investigate an incident. Officers arrived and found a 38 year old man who had multiple gun shot wounds. The victim was conscious and receiving medical attention.
The man was flown to a South Bend hospital where he was undergoing surgery. His name and condition have not been released.
Little League games were being played at the time of the incident. A post on the Constantine High School Facebook page says no children were injured.
Constantine Police also say a second police scene was located at the corner of South Washington Street and White Pigeon Road. Investigators would not confirm if this was related to the shooting incident or not.
The St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force was mobilized to assist in this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are asked to call the Constantine Police at 269-435-2085.
