(MENDON) – Residents of the Mendon School District approved a millage renewal on Tuesday.
Voters approved the renewal with 296 Yes votes (69.81%) to 128 No votes (30.19%).
Mendon Schools were asking voters to approve a millage renewal of 19.5 mills on Non Homestead properties, such as businesses, second homes and rental properties. This allows Mendon Schools to receive its full State funding of 18 mills.
With this approval, Mendon Schools will be able to collect approximately $1.7 million which will be used for various District operations, including staff, learning resources and student programs.
