(COLON) – Two people are being held following an incident in Colon.
At 11:30 AM on May 14, the Colon Police Department requested assistance in apprehending a dangerous and violent subject located in the area of Dallas Street and 1sta Street. The suspect had made several threats to residents in the area and had a substantial violent history.
Due to the circumstances of the case, the St. Joseph County Special Response Team was activated to apprehend the suspect, who was located and arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing along with witness intimidation.
During the arrest of the primary suspect a second suspect interfered with Officers and attempted to disarm an Officer. The second suspect was arrested and charged with resisting and obstructing along with attempt to disarm a police officer.
Both individuals are being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.
Authorities say this is an isolated incident and there is currently no threat to the public.
