(STURGIS) – Moving Sturgis forward can be done by everyone working together.
That was the message shared last night to the audience at the Sturgis Area Community Foundation’s annual meeting, held at the Sturges-Young Center For The Arts.
Foundation Executive Director Lindsay Aguilar told the audience that she was thinking recently, How did she get to where she is at this point in her life? Aguilar says her early years didn’t lend themselves to success later on. LINKC.
Aguilar says she benefited from several people and organizations growing up, such as her teachers, the annual Elks Shoes And Boots Program and the Salvation Army Christmas event. She also received a low interest loan from the Foundation while a student at the University of Michigan.
There has been some great work done by the Foundation over the years. Aguilar says everyone in Sturgis needs to stay focused to keep that moving forward. LINKD.
The Foundation also said thank you to three members of their various boards who are stepping down after many years of service. They are Eric Eishen who served on the Sturgis Area Community Foundation Board; Jan Rimer from the Constantine Foundation Board and Marv Schneider from the White Pigeon Foundation Board.
