(FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP) – Another individual has announced they are a candidate for St. Joseph County Probate Judge.
Kelly Ward is seeking the seat currently held by David C. Tomlinson, who can’t seek re-election due to age limits.
In a media release, Ward says being a Probate Court Judge requires a commitment to serve, the knowledge and experience to provide just and fair results consistent with Michigan Law, and posses the temperament to treat all people served by the court with consideration, compassion, dignity and respect.
Ward spent many years practicing law in several Southwest Michigan before joining the Van Buren County Circuit Court Family Division as a judicial officer in the areas of domestic relations, juvenile delinquency and child protective proceedings. In her private practice, Ward focused on the areas of probate court guardianships and conservatorships for children, adults and
developmentally delayed individuals.
Ward says with her background and experiences, she believes she is well suited to be the next St. Joseph County Probate Judge.
Kevin Kane announced in March that he is also seeking the Probate Court Judge position.
