(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Planning Commission has approved a site plan for a new marijuana based business.
Sturgis Community Development Director Will Prichard says the approval happened Tuesday night. That will now allow EAC Industries, LLC, which is doing business as Hayes Provisioning, to transform the former Retail Warehouse building at 1640 South Centreville Road into a retail marijuana business.
During their March meeting, the Planning Commission heard from Marlos Attom, who says in the future, if possible they would like to build a shopping center on the adjacent properties.
The Planning Commission did say that they would not issue a primary building permit until a residential building located at 1680 South Centreville Road has been torn down.
Prichard says no timeline has been provided on when the work will start or be completed.
