(SCHOOLCRAFT) – The boil water advisory for the Village of Schoolcraft has been lifted.
Village Manager Cheri Lutz says as of Thursday afternoon, the advisory has been lifted. She says the municipal water supply is free from bacteria and citizens are now able to drink the water.
The boil water advisory was issued Wednesday afternoon, after the Village experienced a drop in pressure in their water supply. An outside contractor shut off the water supply valve to the system, and precautionary measures were immediately taken.
Lutz says the Village restored the water pressure and staff took remedial action by flushing and collecting water samples from around the system to determine that the water supply meets the State drinking water standards.
Lutz says the Village thanks the residents for their cooperation in this matter.
