(PENN TOWNSHIP) – One man was injured in a car-semi collision in Cass County's Penn Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke says his deputies were called just after 1 PM Thursday to investigate a personal injury accident. 82 year old Burke Webb of Marcellus was driving south on Decatur Road near M-60 and failed to notice a semi with a trailer, parked in the roadway with its hazard lights on for construction reasons.
Webb rear-ended the trailer with his vehicle. He was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the semi, 42 year old William Keckler of Middlebury, was not in the rig at the time of the accident and was not injured.
Deputies say Webb was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Assisting at the scene was Pride Care Ambulance.
