Safety Grants Coming To NE Indiana Schools

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Almost $110,000 in School Safety grant money is coming to LaGrange County.
It’s part of $14 million awarded to 338 qualifying schools in the state.
Lakeland and Prairie Heights are getting the maximum amount of $50,000. Westview is getting $9,345. The districts must provide a 50 percent local match.
The funds can be used to hire a school resource officer, conduct a threat assessment, and purchase equipment to limit access to the school or expedite the notification of first responders.
East Noble, Central Noble and West Noble each got $50,000 grants.
Fremont Schools got $35,000 and the MSD of Steuben County got $28,500.
