(COLON) – For a first try, the 2019 Magic City Egg Fest in Colon is being called a success.
Event coordinator Tim Taylor says he is very happy with how the Egg Fest went, even with the rain late in the afternoon. LINKC.
The teams competed in three rounds of food preparation: ribs, chicken and pizza. Based on judges scoring, taking first place in the ribs category was the team of 2 Brothers. First place in the chicken category was Grills Gone Wild and in the pizza category was Stone Cold Grillers 454.
Audience members had the opportunity to vote for their favorite team, which was Magically Grillicious from Colon.
All of the proceeds, according to Taylor, are going to the Colon American Legion. LINKD.
Taylor says they will start planning for the 2020 event in the near future.
