(CENTREVILLE) – An additional charge has been filed against the four men arrested in connection with the robbery of the Mendon Marathon Station.

St. Joseph County District Court authorities say 17 year old D'Andrea Brown, 17 year old Jaquayvion Garrett, 17 year old Peter Yates and 18 year old Davontey Sanders, all of Kalamazoo, have been formally charged with one count each of attempted murder, armed robbery and felony firearms.

All four are each being held on $300,000 bond in the St. Joseph County Jail.

Michigan State Police were sent to the Marathon Station on West Main Street at 10:30 PM Sunday after an employee called 911 and said they had been robbed at gunpoint. Police also received a call from a citizen about a vehicle on M-60 driving in an erratic manner.

Troopers found the vehicle near Zinsmaster Road. The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department along with the Mendon and Colon Police Departments arrived and assisted troopers in searching the area.

A State Police K-9 officer and handler tracked the suspects to a wooded area near the Mendon High School baseball field where they were all arrested. A search of the vehicle found a weapon, a mask, a bandana and cash.

Further investigation by the Sheriff's Department determined that the suspects fired a shot during the robbery and as they were leaving the station, they shot at the clerk. No one was injured.

All four are scheduled to have their preliminary hearings on May 7 at 1 PM.
