(EMMETT TOWNSHIP) – Authorities have released the names of the men involved in a fatal two semi crash Thursday in Calhoun County.
Michigan State Police from the Marshall Post say 48 year old Peter Monroe of Mendon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened at 1 AM Thursday in Emmett Township. The second driver, 40 year old Rashad Dobbins of Belleville was not injured.
Troopers say Dobbins was entering the westbound lane of I-94 from 11 Mile Road and as he merged onto I-94, he was struck from behind by a semi driven by Monroe.
The crash remains under investigation. Speed is believed to be a factor in the incident.
