(CENTREVILLE) – St. Joseph County citizens are being asked to give their input on a proposed millage for CTE programming.
In the past, there has been discussion and investigation into a millage to create a Career Technical Education facility in the County to house programs for courses. Residents of the county have said the millage request is too high and that they would not support a facility.
During a recent visit to the WBET Morning Show, St. Joseph County Intermediate School District Superintendent Dr. Teresa Belote says the committee has come up with a different proposal for CTE after spending over a year talking with people around the county. LINKC.
Belote says the proposed millage would only ask for one mill and would be for programming and equipment, not a CTE facility.
A community forum will be held to share this proposal and get feedback from the community. It will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at the ISD offices on Shimmel Road. Citizens of St. Joseph County are asked to attend and shared their thoughts.
