(COLDWATER) – Branch County is now accepting applications for the position of Prosecuting Attorney.
Ralph Kimble resigned last week as the Branch County Prosecutor as part of a plea agreement for the charges brought against him. The vacant position was posted on the Michigan Supreme Court's website.
All interested and qualified candidates are being asked to submit their applications to the Branch County Circuit Court office. Applications will be taken until the position is filled.
By State law, Circuit Court Judge William O'Grady will appoint someone to fill out the remainder of Kimble's term, which expires at the end of 2020. The position will pay $97,000 a year.
Until someone is appointed by O'Grady to finish out the term, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Valerie White will fill Kimble's position.
