(LAGRANGE) – A joint emergency exercise went well.
On Monday, the LaGrange County and Steuben County Local Emergency Planning Committee’s hosted a full scale exercise at Prairie Heights Schools. This was year three of a three year series where the counties worked together to improve collaboration.
LaGrange County Emergency Manager Bill Morr and Steuben County Emergency Manager Lee Greenamyer say the exercise was a traffic accident involving a school bus and a tanker hauling Benzene. First Responders from both counties responded and found multiple patients needing treatment and the hazardous material leak that had to be mitigated.
Over 20 agencies from LaGrange and Steuben Counties were represented among the 101 people that attended this exercise.
Morr and Greenamyer would like to thank Prairie Heights Schools for allowing them to use their property for the exercise; the City of Angola Wastewater Department for use of their tanker; as well as Scouting American 792 out of LaGrange and their families for acting as the patients.
