(COLDWATER) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has issued an update to their quarantine order.
The original order was issued on September 3. CHA Health Officer Rebecca Burns says the update allows the agency to be in line with the new K-12 quarantine guidance that was issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Burns says under this update, adults who are notified that they are a close contact of someone who has COVID-19 are required to quarantine for 10 days, or for 7 days if they have a negative diagnostic test. The same goes for household close contacts.
The update also says all persons in education settings in close contact with COVID-19 cases are also required to quarantine for 10 days, or 7 days with a negative test.
For fully vaccinated students wearing masks, the exposed student can remain in school if they wear a mask and monitor symptoms for 14 days after their exposure. Fully vaccinated students who are not wearing a mask can remain in school but must wear a mask and test for COVID-19 once on Day 3, 4 or 5 after their last exposure to the COVID positive student. If that exposed student tests positive, they are required to isolate for 10 days.
The CHA still offers COVID-19 testing Thursdays at the Coldwater office and on Fridays in Three Rivers and Hillsdale.
