Friday, May 29, 2020

(CENTREVILLE) – The St. Joseph County Intermediate School District is accepting applications for a vacancy on their Board of Education.

Last week, the ISD announced that Board Trustee Sarah Vollmer was stepping down because she and her family were moving out of the county June 8. As a result, the ISD Board of Education is accepting applications for this upcoming vacancy.

ISD Superintendent Dr. Teresa Belote says any registered voter who lives within the St. Joseph County ISD is eligible to apply for the position. The one exception is, any voters that live in the Sturgis Public School District cannot apply. According to the School Code, the ISD Board may not have more than two members from the same school district. There are already two Board members who reside in the Sturgis School District.

If you are interested in applying for the Board position, you are asked to submit a letter of interest and a resume by 4 PM on June 24. You can mail those documents to Teresa Belote, Superintendent, St. Joseph County ISD, 62445 Shimmel Road, Centreville, Michigan 49032.

You can also fax in the documents to 269-467-4309, or you can e-mail them to tebelote@sjcisd.org.

Interviews will be conducted during a special ISD Board meeting on July 6, starting at 4:30 PM at the ISD building. The Board plans to hold the interviews on site, however, they may be conducted virtually if required by Governor Whitmer or by the local health department.

If you have any questions, you can contact Teresa Belote by calling 269-467-5401
