(UNDATED) – There were three new cases of coronavirus reported in Southern Michigan Thursday afternoon.
According to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, 1 new case was detected in St. Joseph County. That makes 110 cases of the virus in the county and there have been 2 people who have died.
Branch County also has 1 new case of COVID-19, which means 109 people who have tested positive and there have been 2 deaths in the county. In Hillsdale County, there were no cases reported. Currently there are 170 residents in Hillsdale County who have the virus and 24 people who have lost their battle with coronavirus.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says no new cases were detected at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. To date, 793 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for the virus, and there have been 22 inmate deaths.
Cass County has 1 new case of coronavirus, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. There are now 80 people who have the virus and there have been 2 deaths.
Across Michigan, 406 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. That makes 56,014 people who have tested positive for the virus. It was also reported that 38 people died from the virus, which means the total number of Michiganders who have passed away is 5,372.
