Ten New COVID-19 Cases In Southern Michigan

(UNDATED) – Health authorities are reporting there are ten new cases of COVID-19 in Southern Michigan as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says 5 new cases were detected in St. Joseph County. That means there are now 109 people with the virus and 2 people who have died.

Branch County has 4 new cases of coronavirus, which makes 108 people who have tested positive for the virus. There have also been 2 people who have died. No new cases were reported in Hillsdale County. That means there are 170 residents who have the virus and 24 people who have lost their battle with coronavirus.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of COVID-19 at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. 793 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for the virus, and there have been 22 inmate deaths.

Cass County has 1 new case of coronavirus, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. That brings the total number of residents with the virus to 79 and there have been 2 deaths.

Statewide, 504 new cases were reported, which makes 55,608 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. 68 people died from the virus, which means the total number of Michiganders who have died is at 5,334.
