(CENTREVILLE) - A group has been put into action to help St. Joseph County during the COVID-19 situation.
On Monday, the Emergency Operations Center was activated to help out with the needs of St. Joseph County citizens. The group is made up of people from different segments of the community such as law enforcement, health care and area businesses and organizations. They each have different skills and connections that can help with given situations.
Emergency Management Director Erin Goff is heading up the EOC and says they hold daily teleconferences to make sure they are staying ahead of the curve in terms of what is needed in St. Joseph County. LINKC.
Goff says the EOC has decided what they need to be focusing on at the present time. LINKD.
That could include senior citizens and the Hispanic community.
Goff says by meeting daily, the EOC will be prepared should the needs in St. Joseph County change during this pandemic.
