(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Burger King restaurant closed down earlier than the announced date of February 22.
One of the staff members is hoping to get the long time restaurant re-opened.
During an interview with WBET, Burger King General Manager Robert Snyder said the restaurant was closed on Tuesday after he was suspended by Tria Company LLC, and his staff walked out with him in a show of support. Snyder says he was suspended after reaching out to other Burger King franchises to see if they wanted to consider opening a restaurant in Sturgis.
Snyder says Tria Company told him and his staff that they were going to close the Burger King and re-open it as an Arby's. That fell through and the company announced they would close the facility on February 22.
Snyder says Tria Company never wanted to put money back into the Sturgis restaurant. LINKC.
Snyder says he wants to do everything he can to keep a Burger King restaurant in Sturgis. LINKD.
Snyder says he has been in contact with another Burger King franchise who has shown interest in opening a restaurant in Sturgis.
Snyder says if citizens want to have a Burger King in Sturgis to go online to Burger King's website which is bk dot com and let them know you would like to keep the restaurant here.
WBET was able to contact Tria's Director Of Operations Michele Wickens, who says they have no comment regarding the closing of the Sturgis Burger King.
