June Unemployment Down In Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana's unemployment rate dipped slightly in June falling from 3.6% to 3.5%.

Private sector employment grew 6,800 over the previous month due to gains in the Private Educational and Health Services (5,000) and the Professional and Business Services (1,100) sectors. Gains were partially offset by losses in the Manufacturing (-700) and the Construction (-500) sectors.

Indiana's labor force had a net decrease of 10,126 over the previous month. This was a result of a decrease of 3,123 unemployed residents and a decrease of 7,003 employed residents.

County jobless rates are due to be released Monday.
